Oil & Gas

Oil Refining › Ethylene Plant

PROCESS INFORMATION

In an Ethylene plant there are multiple stages of compression, kinked with Knock Out Drums before and after the compressors (see below), and also Water Quench and Caustic Scrubbing Towers. The liquid from the Quench Tower is a mixture of oil and water.

PROBLEMS TO SOLVE

a) Prevent droplet carry over from the Quench Tower
b) Prevent droplet carry over from the Knock Out Drums
c) Separate the Oil & Water liquid phases in a 2 Phase Liquid-Liquid Separator
d) Prevent droplet carry over from the Caustic Scrubber

DESIGN SOLUTIONS

a)’Becovane’ DPV Chevron Vane or Circular ‘Becoil’ Demister with mesh style / specification appropriate to the duty.
b) ’Becovane’ DPV Chevron Vane or Circular ‘Becoil’ Demister with mesh style / specification appropriate to the duty.
c)  ‘Becophase’ 2-Phase Liquid-Liquid Separator Vessel, or ‘Becophase’ Co-Knitted Coalescer mesh pack for vessel size minimisation.
d) ’Becovane’ DPV Chevron Vane or Circular ‘Becoil’ Demister with mesh style / specification appropriate to the duty.
